The 2023 Award will be a secondment to join Ecurie Bertelli famous for their work with Pre war Aston Martin, for one month during the Summer 2024 race season.
We are now heading into Year 2 and looking to top up the Award’s financial tank so that we may continue Simon’s legacy, of giving the opportunity to get young people into an old car who could not otherwise be able to afford to go racing.
We are delighted to continue the sale of our lucky black cat stickers with a donation via the ‘Just Giving’ web site. Stickers can be collected from the Heritage Skills Academy at Bicester Heritage or the Wriggly Monkey Brewery.
Objective: To continue in perpetuity, a legacy of Simon’s ethos in recognising & encouraging the next generation of young Heritage Apprentice Engineers through opportunity in Motorsport.
Awarded to: A young individual, identified by a select panel of judges, for demonstrating talent in engineering, passion, enthusiasm, and exceptional commitment as a team player during their apprenticeship.
• To live and work for 1 month with a famous Heritage Motorsport race team
• A £3,000 award to cover the cost of accommodation, travel and subsistence during their secondment
• Secondment to include at least one international Historic Motorsport event
• Plus, an opportunity to obtain ARDS race license
